Assessing

TQUK Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (RQF)

TQUK Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF)

H/601/5314: AC 2.1 has been updated to include the phrase “occupational competence”. This provides further context to the assessment criteria. We have updated the assessment requirements for this unit. The new assessment requirements provide further clarity on how many assessment methods have to be used when gathering evidence for this unit. 

F/601/5319: AC 1.1 has had its command verb updated. “Assess vocational skills” is much more reflective of the requirements to meet this particular assessment criterion. We have updated the assessment requirements for this unit. The new assessment requirements provide further clarity on how many assessment methods have to be used when gathering evidence for this unit. 

External Quality Assurance

TQUK Level 4 Award in External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

TQUK Level 4 Certificate in Leading the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

J/601/5323: There have been a few adjustments to the assessment requirements for this unit. We have replaced “quality assurance visits” with “quality assurance activities” to accurately reflect that not all EQA activities are completed physically. 

Previous Requirements

All learning outcomes in this unit must be assessed using methods appropriate to the candidate EQA’s performance. These must include:

  • Observation of performance
  • Examining products of work
  • Questioning

Direct evidence of this kind may be supplemented, where necessary, by professional discussion, reflective accounts or witness testimony.

Learners must undertake two external quality assurance visits on behalf of an Ofqual approved awarding organisation. Simulations are not allowed.

This unit relates to the Learning and Development NOS Standard 12: Externally monitor and maintain the quality of assessment.

New Requirements

This unit should be assessed in a real work environment. Simulations are not allowed.

All learning outcomes in this unit must be assessed using methods appropriate to the candidate EQA’s performance. These must include:

  •    Observation of performance
  •    Examining products of work
  •    Questioning

Direct evidence of this kind may be supplemented, where necessary, by professional discussion, reflective accounts or witness testimony.

Learners must undertake two external quality assurance activities on behalf of an Ofqual approved awarding organisation. Learners must evidence preparation for and actions following an external quality assurance activity. A minimum of one quality assurance activity must be a visit. 

As part of an external quality assurance visit an assessor should produce an observation or witness testimony on the trainee EQA as part of their evidence. Remote observation is not acceptable for the assessment of trainee EQA’s (the learner) carrying out a physical visit.

This unit relates to the Learning and Development NOS Standard 12: Externally monitor and maintain the quality of assessment.

TQUK Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring (RQF)

Safeguarding in Learning

TQUK Level 1 Award in Safeguarding in a Learning Environment (RQF)

H/617/1451: AC 2.3 has been updated from “describe how data protection and freedom of information guidelines are applied in own learning environment to “describe how general data protection regulations are applied in own learning environment”

Advice and Guidance

TQUK Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Advice and Guidance (RQF)

TQUK Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advice and Guidance (RQF)

R/602/5210: AC 1.1 has been updated, with the terms “security” and “confidentiality” being replaced by General Data Protection Regulations

Learning Support

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF)

D/601/7403: We have updated the assessment requirements for this unit to ensure it is clear which assessment criteria the term “communicate” links to and the types of communication evidence should be produced for. This change will also affect the TQUK Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (RQF).

TQUK Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (RQF) 

A/615/7085: AC 1.1 has been updated to accurately reflect the most current code of practice issued by the government for Special educational needs and disabilities. Further information regarding the SEND code of practice: 0 to 25 years can be found here.
