Today’s update covers rewrites concerning the following qualifications within our employability suite:

We’re writing to you today to inform you of rewrites concerning the following qualifications within our employability suite:

  • TQUK Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment (RQF)
  • TQUK Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment (RQF)

During our review of the qualifications within the employability sector, it was identified that the quality of these qualifications was below our standards. The rewrite has focused on improving presentation, language and terminology. These changes aim to increase the quality and clarity of units within the qualification to enable better accessibility and delivery.

The new versions will be titled as follows:

These new versions will go live on 2nd November 2021. We will begin the withdrawal of the TQUK Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment (RQF) and TQUK Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment (RQF) immediately after the launch of the revamped versions, with the operational end date being set for 1st April 2022. Furthermore, the certification end date will be set for 1st May 2022 for the TQUK Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment (RQF) and 1st November 2022 for the TQUK Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment (RQF).

During this period, we will also be looking to transfer the funding currently received by the TQUK Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment (RQF) and TQUK Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment (RQF) to the TQUK Level 1 Award in Employability Skills (RQF) and TQUK Level 1 Certificate in Developing Employability Skills (RQF).

Both revamped qualifications will be assessed using centre devised assessment. The Skills Network (TSN) will be providing resources for select units within our employability suite through their online platform.

Registration and certification fees for the new versions will be consistent with the current pricing of the TQUK Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment (RQF) and TQUK Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment (RQF).
