We may be very busy at the moment, but one thing we will always have time for is… football!
Here at TQUK, we fully embraced Fantasy Football in the 22/23 Premier League Season! For those who may not know, fantasy football is an immersive game where you step into the shoes of a Fantasy Manager. As a Fantasy Manager, the main objective is to assemble a team of real-life players who earn points for their team based on their actual performances in respective matches.
So… the final curtain has fallen on the remarkable 22/23 Season, bringing an end to this thrilling Fantasy Football campaign.
We had an exciting array of competitions running this year, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of our participants.
Please see the results below!
TQUK Invitational H2H
Huge congratulations to Paul Headford for securing a remarkable victory, narrowly edging out Tim Lumb by a single point! Paul delivered an outstanding performance, consistently scoring high throughout the season to claim the well-deserved win.
TQUK Invitational League
Once again, the TQUK-only league displayed fierce competition and impressive scores. The Top 3 were as follows:
1st. Ryan Wimbles
2nd. Tim Lumb
3rd. Paul Headford
TQUK Invitational League Cup
Our very own Danny Hounslea and Matthew Smith engaged in an intense battle on the final day of the season in the Cup. Danny took a risk by selecting Firmino for the last day, ultimately aiding his push towards victory.
Reflecting on the season, Danny said ‘The players have really kicked it into high gear and left it all on the field. There were moments when injuries threatened to sideline us, but we tackled those challenges head-on. Ultimately, I managed to score big and secured victory from the jaws of defeat. Now, we’re starting the training for next season and are excited to see what it brings.’
TQUK Fantasy Super League
The TQUK Fantasy Super League served as the flagship competition, encompassing both TQUK staff and our valued customers. The ultimate prize was a £200 Amazon voucher and a TQUK-themed goodie bag. TQUK will also match the winnings with an additional donation to Bliss.org.uk (£200).
Our winner has chosen Bliss.org.uk, as this charity supports premature or sick babies. Ryan will become a first-time dad later this year, and he himself was born just over 11 weeks premature!
It is with great pleasure that we announce Ryan Wimbles as the triumphant winner, narrowly missing out on a spot in the Top 10k worldwide. Ryan successfully fended off a late surge from Chris Dolman to secure this prestigious victory. Well done, Ryan!
Throughout the season, we also celebrated Manager of the Month, with each winner receiving a £5 Amazon voucher, a delightful Premier League collectible, and an exquisite certificate. Congratulations to the following individuals who claimed the monthly titles:
August: Andrew Blackman
September: Nabeel Hussain
October: Samson Clarke
November: Nick Ayling
December: Nabeel Hussain
January: Claire Dunphy
February: Lisa O’Reilly
March: Rod Doyle
April: Lisa O’Reilly
May: Joel Radcliffe
TQUK Fantasy Super Cup
The TQUK Fantasy Super Cup, open to both TQUK staff and customers, offered a prize of a £100 Amazon voucher, a TQUK-themed goodie bag, and a matched donation by TQUK to Humanity First. The final clash featured Ali Khan and Barry Rodgers, with Ali Khan emerging as the victor. Ali demonstrated an astute strategy, including a brave decision to bring in Kane and captain him, securing a 12-point lead in the final game.
Ali chose Humanity First as his charity as they are an “international charitable trust who provide aid and assistance to those in need irrespective of race, religion or politics. Most of the staff and management are volunteers so a higher proportion of the donation makes it to the delivery of the aid itself”.
Ali also gave TQUK the option of supporting a Humanity First campaign of our choice. While we believe all campaigns are valuable, as an education organisation the Donate School Bags campaign aligns closely with us. Therefore we have selected this campaign to donate £100 too.
All campaigns supported by Humanity first can be seen here https://hfuk.org/donate/
