How our CASS strategy impacts you
As you may be aware, following a consultation with stakeholders, including Awarding Organisations and centres, our qualifications' regulators made changes to the H Conditions in the General Conditions of Recognition in 2019. Awarding Organisations had to be compliant with these changes by September 2021.

To maintain our Ofqual recognised Awarding Organisation status, and continue to be able to develop, deliver and award regulated qualifications for the education industry, we are required to maintain compliance with a range of regulations as outlined in the Ofqual General Conditions of Recognition.
Here you will find a range of policies which are essential reading and all TQUK Recognised Centres, we would recommend reading our policies and checking back on a regular basis to ensure you stay right up to date with the latest procedural information.
Accredited and Recognised Prior Learning Policy
Accredited Prior Learning (APL) allows a Learner to demonstrate through their previous certificated achievements that they have already met or partially met the requirements of a unit and so do not need to be assessed against those units agreed as having already been achieved.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a method of assessment that allows a Learner to demonstrate through their previous non-certificated achievements that they can meet the assessment requirements of a unit through the knowledge skills and understanding they already possess and so do not need to develop through a course of learning.
Appeals Policy
Training Qualifications UK is committed to ensuring any decisions it makes remain fair, reliable and provides accurate and comparable results, however, we recognise that there may be situations where an individual wishes to appeal a decision or judgement TQUK has made.
As such, TQUK offers the below appeals policy in order to provide external parties with a means to contest decisions made by TQUK, where an individual or organisation reasonably believes TQUK has not followed its procedures and processes correctly and therefore has not made its decisions and judgements fairly.
Bribery and Corruption Policy
This document outlines Training Qualifications UK’s (TQUK) commitment to conduct its business in an honest and ethical manner and act with fairness and integrity in all its practices.
Centre Withdrawal Policy
The purpose of this policy is to outline Training Qualification UK’s approach and procedure for Centre Withdrawal. There are two components to centre withdrawal; a Recognised Centre ceasing to offer a TQUK Qualification and the removal of TQUK Recognition from a Recognised Centre.
Complaints Policy
This document explains Training Qualifications UK’s complaints procedures and is provided for Recognised Centres, Training Providers, Learners, Apprentices and all interested parties who encounter a direct or indirect service from Training Qualifications UK. TQUK values our customers and our aim, every day, is to exceed the expectations of our customers.
If a Recognised Centre, Training Provider, Learner or Apprentice feels that they have encountered a level of service that is below their expectations, that concern should be raised with TQUK immediately. We view complaints as a learning tool and are committed to addressing any concerns raised and learning from all feedback we receive.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Training Qualifications UK is committed to maintaining the highest level of integrity in the activities it undertakes. As such, TQUK publishes the Conflict of Interest Policy in order to outline its approach to identifying, monitoring and managing conflicts of interest that relate to it.
Endorsed Resources Policy
This document explains Training Qualifications UK’s policy regarding the endorsement of third party resources and learning materials. Endorsement provided by Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) confirms that a particular third-party resource has been reviewed by TQUK and that we have deemed the materials to be of a standard sufficient to supporting the delivery of particular TQUK qualification or unit.

This document details TQUK’s strategy in relation to External Quality Assurance including:
• Qualification risk factors and calculation
• Centre Assessment Standards Scrutiny (CASS)
• EQA activity strategy
• EQA sampling strategy
• Guidance and support available for centres
Equality and Diversity Policy
This policy is provided for our centres and learners, who are delivering, enrolled on or have taken a Training Qualifications UK approved qualification or unit or are registered with TQUK for End-Point Assessment.
It sets out our intention to deliver a service and range of qualifications that are fair, accessible and do not include any unnecessary barriers to entry.
Fees and Invoicing Policy - from April 2022
This document is for use from April 2022.
The aim of this policy is to outline a pricing structure and associated invoicing arrangements that are:
- Fair and appropriate and provides value for money for our customers, including Centres;
- Clear and transparent, with no hidden costs or details;
- Easily accessible for potential purchasers;
- Supportive of reasonable planning requirements of potential purchasers;
- Fit for purpose, detailed and compliant with any conditions or guidance of any Regulatory Bodies.
An up to date price list is maintained on the TQUK website.
This document should be read in conjunction with your centre’s agreement with TQUK. In relation to End-Point Assessment Provision, this document should also be read in conjunction with the Education Skills Funding Agency’s ‘Conditions for organisations on the register of End-Point Assessment Organisations’.

GDPR and Privacy
We take your privacy seriously and it’s important that you can trust us to look after and use your data properly. This document sets out how we will do that.
Training Qualifications UK is committed to protecting your privacy. At all times we aim to respect any personal information you share with us, or that we receive from others, and keep it safe. This Privacy Policy sets out our data processing practices and your rights and options regarding the ways in which your personal information is used and collected, including through our websites:
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) recognises certain categories of personal information as sensitive and therefore requiring more protection, for example information about your health, ethnicity and religious beliefs.
In certain situations, TQUK may collect and/or use these special categories of data (for example, information on candidates’ medical conditions so that we can make arrangements for reasonable adjustments and/or special considerations). We will only process these special categories of data if there is a valid reason for doing so and where the GDPR allows us to do so.
Malpractice and Maladministration Policy
This policy is provided for our Recognised Centres, Training Providers, Learners and Apprentices to outline our principles in regards to identifying and investigating malpractice and maladministration. It is also relevant to anyone who suspects that malpractice and/or maladministration is taking place at a Recognised Centre or Training Provider. It is used by TQUK staff members to ensure they deal with any malpractice and maladministration investigations in a consistent manner.
Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations
This policy is provided for Recognised Centres and their Learners undertaking TQUK qualifications. It is also for use by TQUK staff members to ensure they deal with all reasonable adjustment and special consideration requests in a consistent manner.
This policy outlines:
- our arrangements for making reasonable adjustments and special considerations in relation to regulated qualifications.
- how Learners qualify for reasonable adjustments and special considerations
- the reasonable adjustments we will permit and those where permission is required in advance before they are applied
- what special considerations will be given to Learners.
Sanctions Policy
This policy is provided for Recognised Centres delivering TQUK qualifications or units, who have failed to meet aspects of our delivery requirements and/or the standards identified by the regulatory authorities, in respect of regulated qualifications and units. It explains the sanctions TQUK may impose on centres in such situations.
This policy is also for use by TQUK staff members to ensure they apply any sanctions in a consistent manner.
